SPF PORT SERVICES provides escort service for drivers who do not possess a Transportation Worker’s Identification Card (TWIC). Individuals needing access to the port but who do not have a TWIC card, must be accompanied by an escort authorized by the Port of Hueneme. SPF Port Services is one of those authorized to provide those services.
We offer escort services to truckers, individuals shipping or receiving their personal vehicles, companies delivering vehicles and/or equipment, repairmen and all others needing access to the port for authorized business. Per the United States Coast Guard, “escorting” means ensuring that the escorted individual is continuously accompanied while in a secure/restricted area in a manner sufficient to
observe whether the escorted individual is engaged in activities other than those for which escorted access was granted. Drivers must have a picture ID in order to enter the port.
This is a for hire service – please review carefully our fee schedule before requesting an escort. Most services are provided on a first come, first served basis. However, reservations can be made but at a higher fee. Please note that the escort is for one person only – Passengers are not permitted. Exceptions can be made if a second person is required to load or unload or otherwise accomplish the purpose of the visit. Exceptions are made at our discretion, so requests should be made prior to arrival.
Each business on the port has special requirements for completing business. Drivers should acquaint themselves with those requirements and assure compliance. How To Check In
All escorts begin outside the port. Drivers of large trucks and drivers making deliveries of any kind must report to our staging area- large trucks parked near the port entrance will be ticketed by the local police. Our staging area is located at 6000 Edison Drive, Oxnard 93033. Look for a vehicle with signs front and side saying “TWIC ESCORT’ (On the corner of Edison and McWane)
Individuals picking up personal vehicles should park in the parking lot on 333 Ponoma St. Port Hueneme and call our office. Your business will be greatly facilitated if you call at least 24 hours before arrival, and then again when you are within 30 miles of the port.
Reservations
Reservations are honored, but at the rate of $55 hour with a 4 hour minimum. Again, services provided between 5PM and 8AM and weekends and holidays are at 1 ½ times that rate. Go to Contact Page »
No Loads
No loads are at the rate of $60.
Privately Owned Vehicles ( POV )
Individuals shipping or receiving their own private vehicles as part of an international move are charged
a flat $90. Military rate is $50.
Please note that no one is allowed on the port without authorized business (no sightseers). In addition, no one under the age of 14 is permitted on the port for any reason!
